LPN-BED PLACEMENT (Patient Intake) Part Time - Day Shift (2525001073)



The LPN in the Patient Intake Center is responsible for receiving initial direct admission requests. The LPN in the Patient Intake Center is responsible for facilitating patient placement for the Memorial Glenwood campus. Customer service is a priority for the role. The LPN obtains demographical and clinical information from physicians and physician offices. The LPN works collaboratively with the Outpatient Case Manager and assists with screening patients for appropriateness of admission, using established criteria. The LPN is responsible for all bed assignments, maintains accurate and up-to-date Bed Board and enters all transfers and discharges into the computer. The LPN makes appropriate bed assignments based on diagnosis and condition.




  • Graduate from an approved Practical Nursing Program


  • A minimum of 3 years related experience such as patient scheduling, registration, pre-certification or utilization review. Familiarity with third party payers, including Medicare.


  • Competency with computers, fax, telephone and photo copying required. Familiarity with the Meditech system preferred. Excellent organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with physicians and physician office staff.
