The Pharmacist is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients and pharmacy services to patients, physicians, nurses and ancillary departments while supporting the goals and objectives of the hospital and upholding the ethics of the profession of pharmacy.
Performs all activities associated with meeting the objectives of each residency rotation.
Actively contributes to intra and inter-institutional dissemination of information to other members of the health care team to promote quality pharmaceutical services.
Actively pursues a defined area of interest for preparing a major research project.
Serves as an educator through active involvement in mentoring undergraduate interns, externs, and providing in-service training to pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel.
Enhances pharmaceutical care by contributing value-added service not normally staffed by the pharmacy department.
Participates in human resource management through the departmental recruitment and interview process.
Continuously involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental operations with department managers.
Functions as a staff pharmacist as needed and as appropriate.
May Coordinates Poison Prevention Week pharmacy activities.
May Coordinates Hospital Pharmacy Week promotional activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
Licensure or Certification:
Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy.
Licensure must be received within 90 days from date of hire.
- Six months of hospital experience or completed residency program required
