Performs all modalities of echocardiography, including assessment.
Color flow and continuous wave Doppler
Pharmacological stress echocardiography
Performs other non-invasive cardiac testing as requested.
Holter/Event monitor application
Works cooperatively with other team members. Participates in departmental problem solving.
Inputs clinical data into computer system for report generation.
Maintains echo and stress echo tapes, data base, and log books.
Schedules and coordinates procedures for Hospital and outreach sites.
Must be able to float to alternate CHI Health facilities per discretion leader.
Loads equipment into van and drives van to outreach sites. Responsible for minor maintenance and fueling of van.
Schedules and performs outreach testing at assigned sites, establishing good rapport and completing follow-up paperwork within two working days.
When assigned on-call, must be within 30 minutes of the hospital.
Performs preventative maintenance on ultrasound equipment as needed. Contacts Clinical Engineering, as appropriate, for repairs.
Orders and stocks supplies.
Processes charges on a daily basis.
Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs.
Fulfills annual education requirements as stated by policy.
May assist with outreach duties as needed. This may require traveling to various locations throughout the Omaha metro and regional area. This applies to all locations that perform outreach.
One year cardiac ultrasound experience preferred.
Bachelors’ Degree or completion of a 2-year allied health education program.
Registered or registry eligible as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer by the ARDMS.
Must complete Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialing though the ARDMS within 12 months of hire.
Current BLS completion card.
Knowledge of standard cardiac ultrasound views and equipment controls. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment. Ability to communicate with physicians, patients, staff, and supervisor in a professional manner. Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards. Demonstrates personal traits of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, and trust.
