Grants Coordinator - Foundation - Mercy Medical Center - FT (Days)



The Grants Coordinator will work

with program staff to ensure post-award grants management, compliance and

stewardship. The Coordinator will assist with grant identification, writing and

submissions to support the programs of Mercy Medical Center and subsidiaries of

Catholic Health Initiatives – Iowa, including House of Mercy, Mercy College of

Health Sciences, Mercy-Centerville, Skiff Medical Center, as well as other

designated affiliates


  • Assures that the philosophy and mission of MercyMedical Center is visual in the performance of duties. Communicates and promotes a strong commitmentto this mission.

  • Works with program staff to ensure grantcompliance and reporting requirements are met.

  • Meets regularly with Project Directors toprovide assistance in ensuring grant contracts are being followed, grant-fundedprojects are on-track as proposed, and grant budgets are on designated timelines.

  • Consults with and trains Project Directors on post-awardgrant management, such as applicable regulations, equipment purchases,subcontract administration, extensions, re-budgeting, indirect costs andmatching funds requirements.

  • Assists with coordinating, writing andsubmitting grant proposals to foundation, corporate, state and federal grantfunders, in coordination with the Grants Manager.

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate andcomplete grant records.

  • Assists with preparation and review of pre-awardbudget proposals.

  • Maintains database of potential grant fundersand researches new grant opportunities.

  • Assists with other projects from time to time asassigned by the Grants Manager.



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in grant writing and/or grant management.

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills required.
