Description

Key Functions

  • Responsible for defining the design, principles, and processes for assigned technology areas. Develops infrastructure implementation plans that develop and maintain relationships with clinical leadership. Ensures the proper design, implementation, and maintenance of the Standard Architecture and its ability to adapt to new technologies and changing needs of healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Defines, plans, and delivers all IT user access services related to infrastructure and operational support.

  • Works with clinicians, managed service providers and IT to develop designs and solutions that work for patients, clinicians, and IT accessing applications.

  • Defines and promotes the standards, guidelines, and principles that the rest of ITS uses to make its design and technology decisions to minimize risk through high quality design and supported technology.

  • Improves alignment of project decisions to EA road maps and application architectures by performing governance over projects to check for compliance with defined architecture and standards.

  • Promotes new technology-based capabilities or innovations throughout IT organization based on technology R&D efforts.

  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, staff and the broader health care community.

  • Interprets and defines architecture requirements and translates those into technical services plans and projects.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or information systems field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years architecture/design experience, implementing Active Directory, MIM, Okta, Imprivata, Radiant Logic and similar single-sign-on solutions

  • 3-4 years in management role and/or 3-4 years working with management in a clinical setting.

  • Ability to articulate clinical user experience to team members and clients.

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, written communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Strong documentation skills.

  • Organizational skills to facilitate a productive working environment.

  • Able to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time.

  • Able to develop and consult with business units to achieve organizational goals.

  • Able to effectively work in a large, geographically diverse system.

  • Understanding of the Electronic Health Record.

Interactions, hand-offs

  • Earns a reputation of credibility with application and infrastructure groups in order to provide IT leadership and facilitate the successful adoption of EA instruction throughout the ITS organization.

  • Articulates the link between EA programs and IT goals to CIO and senior IT management.

  • Directs and coordinates work with architecture sub-committees across ITS

  • Works with OCIO and other verticals on developing strategy, capital planning, and procurement plans that support EA objectives.
