Senior Analyst, IT Asset Management


Key Functions

Responsible for software true up for both internal and external software audits. Ensures appropriate delivery of software licensing and re-harvesting to end-users. Provides data input into other VMO teams in regards to negotiation and contract information at the onset of new vendor relationships. Looks for redundant purchases and manages the license module to ensure proper utilization of licenses company wide.


Vendor Management:

  • Manages a portfolio of license contracts and maintenance along with renewal schedule

  • Conducts regular internal software audits

  • Develop and implement a strategy to on-board SW licenses from mergers and acquisitions.

  • For large vendors, employs robust asset and inventory review regimen that consistently yields concrete and continuous improvements to asset management, risk mitigation and when possible – savings.

  • Can motivate and communicate to end users to the importance of software compliance

  • Conveys software license requirements to end users to ensure compliance and sets the table for successful internal and external audit results.

  • Interacts with a wide range of stakeholders in the execution of the above activities and results; stakeholders include the business, Legal, risk, audit, IT security and other relevant organizations.

  • Develops subject matter expertise in software license compliance with large BSA vendors.

  • Holds regular meetings with asset management and VMO teams to discuss compliance risks and develops or adjusts current processes to mitigate risk.

  • Facilitates and analyzes true up counts in a timely manner with software vendors.

Process Development:

  • Helps develop tools and processes for efficient SAM engagement within the organization including but not limited to tools, dashboards, processes etc.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Generates regular reports on results such as audit risk and outcome, risk mitigation, disputes resolved, innovation ideas submitted etc.


Skills, Requirements, Certifications

  • Bachelor degree preferred, may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 4 years’ experience in corporate Asset Management and SAM functions

  • Leadership experience in Asset Management and SAM organization

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both oral and written

  • Ability to work under pressure and resolve disputes amicably

  • Executive presence and able to deliver presentations before large groups

  • Certified SAM, preferred

  • ITIL Certification a plus
