MONITOR TECH (SV HOT SPRINGS), FULL TIME, 7P-7A
JOB SUMMARY : Observes, identifies and documents cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry readings of patients monitored through the central monitor station. Responds appropriately to the occurrences of the life-threatening or potentially life-threatening arrhythmias. Communicates patient’s rhythm and monitor alerts effectively with RN caring for patient and other department personnel as applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education: High school diploma, GED, Metropolitan Test or equivalent; successful completion of Dysrthythmia competency.
Experience : Prefer previous experience as a Monitor Technician preferred.
Physical Requirements : This job requires, at various times, the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing. The individual in this position may be required to carry or lift weight of up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100-150 lbs. Individuals in this position could possibly be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens and body fluids, chemical hazards, respiratory hazards and radiological hazards.
Skills : Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and identify life-threatening arrhythmias. Ability to follow established policies and processes. Ability to communicate effectively with nursing staff and physicians.
