Responsible for the delivery of

excellence in patient care through assessing and formulating a nursing diagnosis

and establishing goals, planning and implementing interventions, and evaluating

patient care outcomes. He/she Responsible for participating in and maintaining

quality, achieving cost effectiveness, and ensuring positive guest relations.

Requires basic critical patient care and assessment as well as the development

of technical proficiency, which all RN's are expected to assume at the

termination of their orientation period.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications

Minimum Education/Licensure:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Based on location assignment may also require BLS/ACLS/ and or PALS

Minimum years in

field previous to employment:

  • One (1) year of ICU, CCU, or

Telemetry experience

  1. Initiates nursing interventions

and physician orders, recording all patient data and interventions

Accurately.

  1. Proficient at starting IVs and

administering medications; understands dosage calculations, drug interactions,

implications, precautions, and complications for all medications administered.

  1. Assists the physician during

diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to promote optimal patient

outcomes.

  1. Monitors level of supplies and

drugs in the department.

  1. Understands sterile technique

and handles sterile items appropriately.

  1. Proficient at defibrillation,

cardioversion, and emergency medication administration.

  1. Based on age-specific and

patient-specific needs, displays good patient assessment skills and notifies

nurse or physician as patient condition warrants.

  1. Exhibits strong knowledge base

of cardiovascular diseases. Able to interpret lab values and correlate with

diagnosis to determine potential implications and complications.

  1. Manages follow-up care for

patient and communicates follow-up care plan to patient and patient’s family

members.

  1. Maintains patient

confidentiality and complies with ethical, professional, and legal standards

inherent in patient care and professional conduct.

  1. Communicates in an accurate,

courteous, and professional manner. Greets everyone with a smile and positive

attitude.

  1. Collaborates with other

healthcare professionals.

  1. Admits, discharges, and

transports patients as required.

  1. Serves as a resource for others

nurses and clinical staff. Serves as a mentor for other nurses.

  1. Participates in continuing

education and achieving/maintaining certification.

  1. Participates in data collection

for research and using scientific findings to improve patient care.

  1. Monitors performance by

developing and participating in quality management activities.
