RN Charge, Neuro ICU


Position Summary: Manages all patient care functions on anassigned unit/shift. Ensures thatquality patient care is provided per defined standards of practice. Provides direct patient care based on thenursing process and individual patient needs.Provides families of patients with emotional support, information, andguidance related to the treatment plan.Educate patients and families on areas of health and fitness.


Requirements: A minimum of an Associate Degree in nursingfrom an accredited nursing program.Appropriate state licensure, specialized professional credentialing, andother formal education as needed.Registered Nurse competency is validated by the Competency BasedOrientation (CBO) and designated annual competency validation for department.

Adequate conversationalEnglish is required in order that the individual be able to take direction frommanagement, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately withpatients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines,and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.

WorkingRelationships: The Clinical Manager isresponsible to the Unit Manager. He/she may supervise one or more employees ina clinical setting. Daily contact withpatients, guests, and staff. May havecontact with other members of the healthcare team as such as medicalrepresentatives, students, physician's office staff, licensing/regulatoryboards, etc.

Physical Requirementsand Environmental Conditions:

Physical coordination,mobility, verbal articulation, vision, and learning must be easilyperformed. May be exposed to blood, bodytissues and fluids regularly, as well as other hazardous waste materials. Must be able to tolerate environmentaltemperature fluctuations. May be exposedto radiation, toxins, dust, cytotoxins, and/or poisonous substances. May be exposed, periodically, to physicalinjury, burns, noise, and some electrical hazards. Must also be able to walk, stand extensively,bend, stoop, squat, visually discriminate close objects, hear and distinguishnormal sounds.
