JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Nurse Manager – Clinical Registry, the Nurse Supervisor – Staffing Resources is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of clinicians working through the Clinical Registry and assigned contingency options (traveler, agency, and other contracted clinical staff). The incumbent must possess strong intrapersonal skills and clinical knowledge to effectively supervise a diverse team of clinicians to meet the needs of CHI St. Vincent.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Licensure/Certification: Current unencumbered RN licensure to practice in the State of Arkansas; Membership in professional organizations and professional certification required. Must sit for professional certification within one year of entering the position. Must have obtained professional certification within two years.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a healthcare organization required. Previous clinical management experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Tasks require hand/eye coordination, ability to see, hear, smell and speak. Physical activities may include balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching standing, sitting, stooping, use of fingers and repetitive movements. May be required to lift weight up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100-150 lbs. Could be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, blood borne pathogens and body fluids, chemical and radiological hazards.

Knowledge and Skills; Must possess strong human relations skills with an ability to handle difficult/sensitive issues with regard to patient/employee confidentiality; ability to motivate others; knowledge of hospital practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to multiple areas of clinical discipline. Must possess basic knowledge and functional skillset for the usage of standard Microsoft Windows-based computer applications.

Service Skills: An ability to develop strong relationships with customers (i.e. patients, physicians and supporting departments). Demonstrated facilitation skills with a working knowledge of CQI tools and techniques.

Leadership Expectations: Demonstrated ability to problem solve and be supportive/innovative in the process of change; Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written; Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently without close supervision; must have problem solving skills and be self-motivated
