The Accounting Manager is to coordinate, identify, recommend and perform the activities for the general accounting operations including, general ledger, financial reporting, Kronos, tax reporting, fixed assets, social accountability reporting, and audits as established by KentuckyOne Health. This scope of responsibilities will include all facilities serviced in their respective Finance office. The accounting manager will manager the daily operations of the accounting department including cash management. Maintains the integrity of the organizations accounting records. Assist in the organization and communication needs of the facility as it pertains to financial matters and managing multiple priorities. The position supervises and maintains a staff of senior accountants and staff accountants. Develops, evaluates, and assures departmental goals and objectives are achieved. The Accounting Manager is responsible to the Director Accounting.
The accounting manager Is in daily contact with co-workers, managers, and senior hospital executives. May have contact with physicians, vendors, auditors, attorneys, and representatives of licensing/regulatory agencies.
Special Skills or Atrributes Required:
The Accounting Manager is the system administrator of Hyperion, ENUFF, and Titan general ledger system including journal entry control, period closings, upgrades and improvements, etc. Maintains the internal financial reporting system. Supervises Senior Accountants and Staff Accountants. This requires the assignment of tasks and resolving staff problems; completing all HR items on a timely basis (evaluations, etc.); coordinating agendas and special projects; meeting with staff on a weekly and monthly basis and assuring staff development. Works with the Controller in the monthly close process. Is responsible for the compiling and completion of all external reporting requirements including Hyperion. Maintains adequate training and cross training of all staff. Prepares and presents financial information to a variety of individuals and groups. Performs other tasks and requests as needed. Works with external and Medicare auditors.
Qualifications: Should have a strong working knowledge of Lawson, Meditech and HFM software. Highly competent in all Microsoft Office programs. Should have specific detail knowledge of accounting, reimbursement and financial reporting. Possess strong communication and analytical skills.
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the organizational policies.
Education Required: MBA or CPA preferred. Bachelor degree in Accounting required. Continuing education is a requirement of the Accounting Manager.
Previous Related Experience Required: Five to seven years of financial management experience in a healthcare setting is required.
