PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT, 3A Progressive Care Unit/Neuro-Oncology, Nights, PRN
This role is responsible for providing a variety of
routine patient care activities and support services including general clerical
and reception duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assists nurse, physicians, and families as
Recognizeschanges in patient status and reports appropriate information to registerednurse.
Assistswith admission, transportation and discharge of patients
Demonstratesknowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span of thepatient to include neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric.
Assistspatient with dressing and undressing
Assistspatient with grooming and maintaining proper and clean appearance
Assistspatient with elimination/toileting needs
Assiststhe patient with oral care
Assistspatients in transferring, repositioning, alignment and ambulation
Accommodatespatient’s needs through responding appropriately to patient’s verbal/nonverbalexpressions of needs
patient’s living areas pleasant and orderly
patient’s self esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
patients with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their
plan of care.
patient’s rights are protected and that all patients, families, and significant
others are made aware of patient’s rights.
body functions and documents care provided to patients

Safety, Sitter services for the patient as assigned
and practices appropriate hand hygiene in delivery of patient care

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required& preferred):
School Diploma or GED required.
Experience(required and preferred):
One year nursing assistant experience in
acute or long-term care or successful completion of 1 semester medical/surgical
clinical experience in a nursing program or successful completion of nursing
