Description

Position Summary: Performs 2-D echocardiograms, doppler echos, carotid and venous duplex imaging exams and other vascular procedures to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities. Perform arterial and venous scans for evaluation of disease and blood flow. Displays a positive image of Saint Joseph Hospital by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior toward patients, physicians, visitors, volunteers and other employees. Provides patient care/services based on identified needs/developmental level for all patient populations checked below; care/services may include assessment of individual patient needs; incorporation of age-specific characteristics in patient education, communication and planning; provision of individualized care relevant to patient needs; and recognition, monitoring and provision of interventions as appropriate.

Qualifications

Requirements: Must be a high school graduate or have equivalent education. Must have either a minimum of one year of experience as a ECG-Telemetry Technician or six months formal training in noninvasive ultrasound and/or successful completion of Saint Joseph Heart Institute Echocardiography Competency Based Orientation. Academic preparation and a structured echocardiography internship at an accredited program may be used in lieu of the above. RDCS, RDMS, RVT, or RCVT certification is preferred.
