Job Summary :

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care per practical nursing standards.

Essential Duties :

  • Develops and maintains guest relations with patients, medical staff, visitors, and employees in accordance with the St. Joseph’s/CHI Philosophy.

  • Assists the registered nurse in gathering information as part of the admission assessment. Give input into the development of the plan of care as new information is received.

  • Plans and sets priorities in the delivery of the nursing care.

  • Implements treatment/procedures and administers medications in the compliance with nursing policies and procedures.

  • Performs patient teaching as assigned. Assists RN in the discharge planning process.

  • Evaluates patient symptoms, reaction and progress; Observes, records and reports them to the charge nurse or physician as appropriate.



  • MN LPN license required.

  • Current Medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.

  • BLS certification required.

  • Able to meet ADA requirements.
