Endoscopy Tech II-Woodlands (Days) Full Time

TheWoodlands Hospital

A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and

Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services,

diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density

studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and

surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical

affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s

Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.

Position Summary:

Has a wide range of specialized

duties. They must already have the skills of an Endoscopy Technician; possess a

thorough understanding of endoscopy equipment and supplies and display above

average interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact with

staff, physicians, vendors, and other department personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Daily accountability ofavailable scopes for use, those sent for repair and loaners ( in the absence ofthe Senior Instrument Specialist, or as designated by the Nurse Manager)

  2. Accurate record keepingof scopes in use, sent for repair and loaners in the absence of the SeniorInstrumentation Specialist, or as designated by the Nurse Manager.

  3. Plays a supportive rolein assessing needs of unit for changing par levels of equipment and accessoriesand relaying such information in a timely manner to the Sr. InstrumentationSpecialist.

  4. Assists with in servicingstaff on all new equipment and accessories, as well as helping to in-servicestaff on other equipment as needed. Assist with annual competencies ofendoscopy staff.

  5. Assists with initiationand follow up of scope washer maintenance...i.e. solution checks, solution andfilter changes.

  6. Assists withtroubleshooting of Pentax equipment, i.e. video processors and monitors.

  7. Scope Knowledge:regarding image quality, color levels, air/water functioning, channel sizes andcompatibility with accessories.

  8. Is a resource forphysicians and staff with the Endo Pro system and Doc-U-Scribe.

  9. Troubleshootingelectrical issues/ contact Biomed as needed

Qualifications

Education:

High

School Diploma/GED

Licensure/Certification:

Gastrointestinal

Technical Specialist (GTS)

Minimum Experience:

Four

(4) years of experience as an Endoscopy Tech
