Radiologic Technologist I-Woodlands Diagnostic Imaging (Days) PRN
A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and
Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services,
diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density
studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and
surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical
affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s
Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.
Operates diagnostic equipment and Performs a variety of technical
diagnostic imaging procedures. Provides patient orientation, procedure
explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs
complete diagnostic imaging tests inclusive of positioning patient, calibration
of equipment, and documentation of findings, with the direction of the imaging
supervisor/manager. Assists patients with basic patient care needs.
Performs completediagnostic imaging tests on patients according to the specific departmentalprocedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director. Obtains anddocuments patient history.
Prepares equipmentensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according todiagnostic standards. Performs periodic QA and Ensures requisite documentation.
Problem solves equipmentfailure and contacts appropriate personnel regarding equipment problems.
Ensures that dailyequipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after eachprocedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensureinfection control standards.
Completes all qualitychecks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
Completes all clinicalsupply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with thenecessary supplies required to perform the procedure
Actively Participateswith patient testing, performing urgent, emergent patient requests, routine andnon-routine requests and OR procedures requiring radiographic support.
Demonstrates competencyin the PACS process and performs the daily PACS QA process and requirements.
Communications withNursing, Physicians, Patient Care Assistants, Laboratory staff, administrativestaff, other diagnostic areas and departments to ensure that the patientsreceive their diagnostic procedures in a smooth, efficient and safe manner.
Performs portableexaminations when applicable at the bedside to ensure patient safety as well asprovide immediate diagnostic testing when needed.
Assists with patientscheduling when required liaising with other departments as needed.
Ensures that patientorientation, patient preparation (including starting IV’s and drawing labs asnecessary), and patient teaching is provided prior, during and following thetest completion.
Reviews the physicianorder to verify the type of diagnostic exam requested and that the indicationfor the procedure is consistent.
Completes exams in RISsystem for accurate billing. Communicates when corrections are needed.
Provides specificdiagnostic test information to the patient ensuring that the patient is awareof the test involvement.
Obtains assistance withany diagnostic procedures which are not completed, or if there are any patientcare issues.
