Respiratory Therapist Registered-RRT (Nights) PRN


TheWoodlands Hospital

A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and

Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services,

diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density

studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and

surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical

affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s

Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.


Provides care to those suffering from acute and chronic

respiratory problems. This care includes treatment, management, control, and

diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities

associated with the cardiopulmonary system.


  1. Administering therapymodalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN),HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation(IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidine therapy. Medicationadministration may be included during these therapy modalities.

  2. Administering medicalgas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2).

  3. Performing ventilationtherapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. Thesetherapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, aswell as transport of ventilator patients to diagnostic procedures.

  4. Performs physiologicalmonitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopyassistance, pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring,apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring, capnography, and pulse oximetryand sleep apnea assessment.

  5. Performs specializedprocedures which including but are not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage,transport, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airwaycare, and body mechanics/ambulation. Permanent or temporary assignment may bemade to the Pulmonary Function Lab to perform diagnostic procedures to identifyand quantify dysfunction by spirometry, gas diffusion, and body plethysmography.

  6. Documenting all patientcare accurately and completely in the required departmental documentationsystem.

  7. Serve as resource tocertified respiratory therapists, preceptor for new employees, and respiratorycare students.

  8. May serve as chargetherapist in running the shift in absence of the supervisor.




Degree Required.


complete a respiratory care degree program that is accredited by the Commission

on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
