Catholic Health Initiatives Laundry Tech in WILLISTON, North Dakota
The purpose of this position is to supply clean laundry to all departments within the hospital.
Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department, organization, and CHI. Additionally, the position serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision and Behavior Standards of Mercy Medical Center.
Infection control guidelines and procedures are carefully followed.
Soiled linen in picked up, weighed and recorded at specific times.
Used linen is sorted according to fabric and degree of soil, with
careful observation for potential safety hazards (i.e. pins, sharps,
personal belongings, etc.)
- Linen is washed and dried according to department standards and
Laundry chemicals including soaps, detergents, bleach and other solutions are accurately used according to established procedures.
Linens are inspected for holes, defects, flaws and quality of cleanliness.
Defective items are repaired or referred for corrective handling.
Linen items are carefully folded and stacked.
Linen carts are loaded with required amounts of fresh linen and taken
to designated areas of the hospital.
- Laundry equipment is operated and cared for according to manufacturers’
specifications and department policy and is maintained in good operating
Supplies are used appropriately and not wasted.
Linens are stacked and delivered according to specifications to assure
Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
