Radiology Aide-Medical Imaging PRN
GENERAL SUMMARY :
Supports the professional
clinical staff by providing direct and indirect patient care and performing
duties as assigned by supervising staff.
These duties may vary by shift or may be section specific. Provides care
to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Must possess excellent phone etiquette andcommunication skills. Coordinates andmanages patient exam orders, manages patient images in various softwaresystems, enters patient-related data in various software systems and answersphone calls.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in abusy environment with high multi-tasking demands.
Prepares for and carries out transport ofpatients, equipment, supplies and patient charts to and from department.Transfers patient to/from cart/bed/wheelchair using correct and safe technique.
Assumes responsibility for patients’ care,safety and environment throughout transportation.
Observes and reports pertinent patientinformation according to department policy.
Under supervision and guidance of RadiologicTechnologist, participates in patient procedures.
Changes linens, cleans and stores equipment.
Assumes responsibility for patient care needssuch as dressing/undressing, and ambulation as directed by a RadiologicTechnologist.
Answers patient requests and respondsappropriately.
Under the direction of a Technologist,participates in a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, positioningand moving patients, locating, moving, setting up and cleaning equipment andsupplies.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
High school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of a Medical terminologycourse preferred.
At least one year of Healthcare work experiencepreferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certifiedor obtained within three (3) months of hire.Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American RedCross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart AssociationBasic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporterabuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
