Data Scientist-Clinical Analytics


Job Summary

  • Works with VP- Clinical Analytics to produce enterpriseanalytics that support the strategic priorities of quality, safety, patient experiencein the acute and ambulatory care environments and across the care continuum.

  • Work with business sponsor to organize and lead a projectteam to define analytics opportunity to transform operations.

  • Facilitate discussions with project team to define a charterthat helps define the processes and people that need to be engaged to achievetransformation.

  • Responsible for the reliable and efficient delivery ofstandard integrated analytics that support CHI clinical, national servicelines, CHI divisions and facilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with VP Clinical Analytics to develop a fiscal yearroadmap identifying the sponsors, rationale for the initiative, andfunctionality of the analytic, and key milestones.

  • Work with Clinical Analytics Team to develop project planwith tactics, key deliverable, and timeline.

  • Work with the customer to define the vision, create a charter,and manage the overall lifecycle of the solution through the transformationstage.

  • Ensure that customer has a credible operational transformativeplan incorporated into the charter and Project Plan.

  • Lead development of planning to achieve successful rolloutand adoption

  • Ensure Defined Education and Communications Plan is scoped,resourced, and carried out.

  • Collaborates with quality, division analytic leaders,service lines, clinical informatics, finance and others in a complexorganizational matrix to achieve transformation using analytics.

  • Facilitating the development and maintenance of standarddefinitions

  • Collaborates to ensure the CHI analytic standards achievemaximal adoption

  • Work with business leader, data stewards, BusinessIntelligence, and sponsors to assess source system gaps and implementationactivities including requesting resources to complete implementation

  • Standards Monitoring for adherence and quality control

  • Standards Change Management Process

  • Responsible for proactively identifying opportunities toimprove customer focus, system thinking and quality (data andfunctionality).Can readily identifyefficient and effective options for new solutions.

  • Uses standard statistical and analytic approaches(Hypothesis Testing, Correlational Analyses, Predictive Modeling, Data Visualization,etc.); defining the appropriate methodologies through the identification ofstrengths and limitations of alternatives.

  • Identifies opportunities for organizational processre-engineering and performance improvement to deliver and optimize standard enterpriseanalytics with the greatest possible reliability and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years of leadershipexperience, OR minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the discipline, ORMaster’s Degree and no experience.

  • 10 years’ experience defining requirements and developinghealth care specific analytics required.

  • Knowledge of analytic best practices within healthcare andacross analytically driven organizations.

  • Ability to analyze raw data and disseminate results, withability to think logically and process sequentially with a high level ofdetailed accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and measure/monitordaily/weekly/monthly operational processes to achieve implementation of along-range enterprise analytics strategy

  • Organizational skills to facilitate a productive &healthy working environment.

  • Innovation, design, planning, implementation, projectmanagement skills.

  • Ability to transform ambiguous conceptual models intooperational practice.

  • Ability to analyze data, synthesize information, transferknowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree / 15 years’ experience

  • Knowledge of relational databases, data warehousing andEnterprise Intelligence required; MS SQL Server, MS Parallel Data Warehouse

  • Experience coding and scripting within statistical andanalytical software; R, SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, Visual Basic
