Catholic Health Initiatives SR. FINANCIAL PLANNING ANALYST in ENGLEWOOD, Colorado



Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the development and analysis of CHI enterprise wide long range financial plans, capital plans, annual budgets, interim forecasts, and current operational performance compared against those plans. This position also contributes to the continuous improvement of the systems utilized for these purposes and to the conceptual development of new tools; leads the development of standardized reporting and analytical tools; and provides day-to-day Kaufman Hall application customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the development of driver-based long range financial plans, interim forecasts, and annual budgets including consolidation at the MBO level using the Hyperion planning application and other tools.

  2. Work with MBOs and National to gain clear understanding of issues driving actual and projected financial results.

  3. Provide support to MBOs related to creating reviewable capital business plans.

  4. Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses related to all aspects of actual performance, financial plans and capital business plans and communicate results and recommendations effectively. This requires the development of robust models that serve as the basis for evaluating submitted plans and forecasts vs. expected results.

  5. Support the effort of continuously improving existing planning systems and contribute to the conceptual development of new tools and approaches that enhance the overall planning, forecasting and budgeting processes.

  6. Support the development and update of all CHI Financial Planning Department training manuals on a periodic basis. This includes comprehensive testing of all planning tools ensuring that the user guides correctly state process and system functionality.

  7. Provide real time support related to system utilization and processes for all end users responsible for developing projections.

  8. Develop and maintain Financial Planning Department policies and procedures related to area of responsibility.

  9. Perform other duties as needed.


Job Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Master’s degree in Business or Health Administration and/or Certified Public Accountant desired.

  2. Experience (required and preferred): Minimum of 5 years experience in financial planning and/or finance. Healthcare experience preferred.

  3. Desired skills: Lawson, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Smart View, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Strategic Finance, strong financial modeling in Excel.
