PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (Hixson Physical Therapy) Full Time- 1st Shift



  • Responsible for specific (pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics) services commiserate with their training and experience under the supervision and direction of the Physical Therapist.

  • Assists in the evaluation of support personnel. Participates in program evaluation.

  • Assists in the clinical education of Physical Therapist Assistant Students as assigned.

  • Maintains personal and departmental clinical competence.

  • Maintains a “customer orientation” awareness while interacting with patient, families and other professionals.



  • Graduate of an accredited two year Associate Degree Therapy Program with successful completion of clinical internship/affiliations.

  • Must have and maintain current state licensure in Tennessee.

  • Current BLS certification required through the American Heart Association.


  • No previous experience required but experience in acute care or outpatient services preferred.


  • All modalities utilized within the Physical Therapy Department.

  • Tools used to measure range of motion, strength, functional abilities and wound size.

  • To include therapeutic treatment skills utilized in the rehabilitation of various patient population.

  • May enter the secured medication rooms to deliver or access supplies and equipment necessary to carry out the core job functions.
