Provides transportation (shuttle), fleet maintenance, courier service, and processing of incoming and outgoing mail.



Minimum Education and Licensure:

  • High School Diploma/GED/Commercial Driver License

Minimum Experience:

  • One (1) year of related experience

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Driving records must be acceptable to insurance company; this means a driver must not have more than two traffic violations in three years if he/she is under 25 years old

  • Must be courteous and business like behavior


  1. Sorts and distributes mail to boxes (incoming, interoffice, inter-institutional)

  2. Operate Mailing Equipment

  3. Drives the Shuttle

  4. Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles

  5. Gives customers postal information, and Operates mailing machines and cash registers

  6. Provides courier service all over Houston, such as dietary deliveries, boxes of records, specimens, accountable to the post office, confidential correspondence, meter to post office, cash receipts, checks, x-rays, medical records; picks up mail from the post office

  7. Runs scheduled mail routes

  8. Keep records of accountable, BRM (Business Reply Mail), and postage due mail
