Position Summary

Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle for single or multiple small local projects or phases of a larger project of simple to moderate complexity under direct supervision. Work closely with sponsors, process owners and subject matter experts to develop and deploy implementation plans and other project tools, establish metrics and improvement targets, drive projects to completion, and monitor effectiveness of solutions. Manage project resources within each project’s triple constraints of scope, schedule and budget


Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in business administration or equivalent; May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience: 1 year of total project management experience required

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle (Initiating, Planning, Implementing, Closing and Benefits Harvesting).

  2. Provides hands-on leadership and process improvement subject matter expertise to project teams.

  3. Ensures that assigned projects are conducted in accordance with CHI project management methodology, approved project plan and stakeholder expectations; uses, and trains others on, CHI’s project management methodology and associated tools.

  4. Identifies, assesses and manages potential or actual project risk (e.g. budgetary non-compliance, scope control, missed deadlines/milestones, etc.); devises and implements effective strategies and contingency plans to mitigate or resolve issues within scope of authority.

  5. Facilitates Stage Gate Reviews; negotiates the resolution of issues with all stakeholders.

  6. Develops, manages, and evaluates capital and operating budgets for assigned projects; assists with development of projected costs; manages utilization of operational and capital funds, based upon the project budget; tracks, monitors and approves expenditures.

  7. Ensures controls processes are in place to measure delivery productivity.

  8. Prepares and facilitates vendor selection processes, including writing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).

  9. Consults with key stakeholders regarding business needs, requirements and scope.

  10. Provides input to Program Managers in the refinement of Project Lifecycle processes and methodologies.

  11. Serves as point-person for internal and external project communications; ensures that project milestones, completion dates, costs, risks, contingencies and other significant matters are communicated on a regular basis to team members and stakeholders.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  1. Experience with project management applications (e.g., Microsoft Project Pro/Server, Clarity, Primavera).

  2. Experience in at least one project management methodology is required.

  3. Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization.

  4. Strong analytical skills and process focused.
