KEY FUNCTIONS

With minimal supervision from technical management, designs, implements and maintains SVHCA-CHI Citrix and data infrastructure environments and related services. Participates in enterprise projects as a technical lead and datacenter operation-driven projects as a project lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the Managed Service Provider responsible for the quality and reliability of CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas’ Citrix systems.

  • Provides engineering direction to the Citrix Managed Services and datacenter operations for changes in CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas’ operating procedures and/or the delivery of new IT projects.

  • Performs as the lead engineer in the design, deployment, and implementation of Citrix, datacenter, security, remote access components, and Active Directory in the datacenter environment.

  • Will be assigned responsibility for developing Citrix and datacenter architectures and standards and integrating them in the enterprise architecture

  • Provides second and third level support for SVHCA-CHI Citrix and datacenter issues, and other end user issues as needed.

  • Performs datacenter operations (proactive and reactive) through use of software/hardware diagnostic tools, problem diagnosing and network recovery process.

  • Develops, creates, and maintains current management databases, and server diagrams for network infrastructure including the development of database requirements, and establishment of data file backups.

  • Provides statistics of datacenter performance

  • Ensures that all SVHCA-CHI datacenter documentation remains current and relevant.

  • Develops monitoring procedures to ensure proper datacenter operations.

  • Creates and assist in ensuring adherence to CHI network and security installation standards.

  • Assists in managing vendor support and services.

  • Update skills as necessary to support the CHI-SVHCA network and remain knowledgeable of industry standards and advancements.

  • Be available by email, phone, and/or cell phone for emergencies and work as needed after business hours as well as being one of the primary 24/7 contacts for various service providers in the event of a failure or interruption in service.

  • Will require some paid on-call coverage responsibilities

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred.

  • MCSE and/or other certifications strongly preferred.

  • 5 years’ experience supporting both Citrix and datacenter environments.

  • 7 years of total IT/datacenter experience required.

  • May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Acquires a solid understanding of the structure, configuration, capacity, and usage of the CHI Citrix environment.

  • Assists CHI manager and director to develop short/long term Citrix capacity plans.

  • Familiarity with Windows, UNIX and other operating systems as well as desktop and server hardware

  • Knowledge of computer room environmental systems (air, power, fire suppression, uninterruptible power systems)

  • Project leadership skills including work plan development and management, and accomplishing projects within budget

INTERACTIONS, HAND-OFFS

  • Coordinates service with vendor support as required.

  • Coordinates activities and communication with Help Desk

  • Will be leads in defining datacenter architectures, components, and standards across the network team

  • Some of these architects will also be part of an enterprise architecture team that ensures integration of all technical platforms and evaluates new technologies for future use within CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas
