position is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of monthly payment

reserves. Oversees the preparation of

Kentucky One Health governmental cost reports.

Monitors governmental reimbursement changes that would change current

reimbursement. Models changes in

reimbursement from various payers to determine adjustments needed. The Director oversees the fulfillment of

data requests and analysis, including reports, narrative summaries, charts,

graphs, business plans, and project evaluations related to accounting

guidelines. The director co-leads the

monthly close process. May assist other

finance and operational leaders with the development of operating budgets, long

range financial plans, and capital business plans. The position will assist with the development

of finance policies and evaluation of internal controls. This position is

visible at all levels of the organization and actively participates in

system-wide operational, performance improvement, and growth committees and


Essential Functions

  1. Recommends sufficient

number of qualified and competent persons to provide care or services.

  1. Coordinates and

integrates inter- and intra-departmental services.

  1. Develops implements

and updates policies and procedures.

  1. Determines

qualifications and competence of department personnel.

  1. Assures continuous

assessment and improvement of quality of care or service provided by


  1. Assures orientation

and continuing education provided to all department personnel.

  1. Recommends space and

other resources needed by department.

  1. Participates in

selection of sources for needed services not provided by department or


  1. Develops and

implements action plan in response to departmental results of climate

assessment survey.

  1. Develops behavioral

based interview tools for each department role and uses the tool as part of the

interview process.

  1. Utilizes Associates

in a peer interview process when filling vacant positions.

  1. Demonstrates

Performance Management model for corrective action/performance improvement

issues according to KentuckyOne Health policy.

  1. Appoints department

educational coordinator(s) to facilitate the delivery of department specific

and organization wide education to Associates.

Utilizes the Education Services Department of KentuckyOne Health as a

consultative resource.

  1. Is accountable for

and demonstrates leadership/management of the services in the department

including compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and accrediting


  1. Is accountable and

demonstrates leadership/management of the department’s financial resources.

  1. Is accountable and

demonstrates leadership/management of the department’s People.

  1. Is accountable for

creating annual departmental unit goals related to growth.


Education/ Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred): Bachelor's

degree in Finance, Business, or related field required with CPA or MBA


Experience (requiredand preferred):

Seven years of reimbursement experience,

and five years of managerial experience.
