Position Summary:

CHISt. Luke's Memorial Health is seekinga college studentwho is currently enrolled in an Associate's degree programin General Businessor related field,with the desireto begin a career in HR. Thisis an unpaid internship. This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private and confidential materials. Must have the ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality is required, with zero tolerance. The HR internwill Assists in all the employment arenasin the department as needed and represent the HR department to all customers upon their first point of contact, and will connect with various types of employees/customers so they are properly guidedto the correct area of theHR department.

Position Responsibilities:

  3. Strong organizational and analytical abilities

  4. Must be detail-oriented, with good follow through

  5. Assist and oversee initiatives for the office

  6. Provide support on benefit related questions and initiatives

  7. Willingness to take on some administrative tasks

  8. Positive attitude and work ethic

  9. Perform routine secretarial and receptionist duties

  10. Greets and assist employees, and other visitors at front desk reception area

  11. Responsible for answering and fielding calls from the front reception to the appropriate parties

  12. Maintain confidentiality of employee files

  13. Assists with internal and external communication processes such as, letters, memos, and documents

  14. Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems

  15. Prioritize activities for the best interest of the HR team

  16. Assist in the creation of employee badge process

  17. Sorts and disperses department mail

  18. Preforms other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

Education Level

  • Currently enrolled in a college program



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with hospital personnel, applicants and outside agencies"


  • Office experience preferred
