Pharmacy Resident


  1. Provides pharmaceutical care to patients assigned by actively monitoring drug therapy, providing interventions and performing consults for all assigned patients.

  2. Promotes professionalism and strives to raise the level of professional practice.

  3. Responds to drug information questions.

  4. Provides medication teaching to patients and families as appropriate.

  5. Documents in the patient’s medical record all pertinent information, including but not limited to progress notes, consultations.

  6. Provides pharmacokinetic dosing and recommendations as appropriate.

  7. Monitor parenteral nutrition and provide recommendations as appropriate.

  8. Attends in-services, grand rounds, journal club and teleconferences as directed by preceptor.

  9. Prepares and presents case presentations as required.

  10. Provide educational in-services to pharmacy and other hospital staff members and to community health care professionals and consumers as directed.

  11. Actively monitors drug therapy, provides interventions and consults for all assigned patients.

  12. Prepares timely documentation for record keeping.

  13. Participate in quality management activities.

  14. Enter medication orders onto the pharmacy computer system.

  15. Checks medications, including sterile products, checked by a technician.

  16. Complies with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.

  17. Completes hospital and department orientation.

  18. Participates in teaching functions at Creighton University School of Pharmacy as directed.



Required: Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE approved College of Pharmacy. Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Nebraska within 3 months of hire.
