TEAM LEAD ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations.

  2. Assigns day-to-day work activities; directs the functional and technical job performance of team members.

  3. Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit/department and organizational needs and collaborates with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met.

  4. Manages performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing performance, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action.

Qualifications

Experience

Preferred: A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a cardiac cath lab with a minimum of two years experience in a supervisory or team leader position in a setting with equivalent or greater volume.

Education/Licensure

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare-related field.

Required: One of the following

  • Completion of a Registered Nurse program in an accredited institution required.

  • Current RN licensure in the State of Nebraska or the State of Iowa. Nebraska and Iowa are compact states so your must be licensed in the state of your residence.

Or-

Must have a valid certificate to function as a Paramedic or a Paramedic Specialist in the state of Iowa with status as a Critical Care Paramedic.

Additional requirements include:

BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

ACLS or ACLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, American Safety and Health Institute: ACLS, AmericanCollege of Surgeons: ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) and American College of Emergency Physician: ACLS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must possess strong knowledge of cardiac cath procedures and equipment, cardiac anatomy ad physiology, and physical cardiac hemodynamics; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good communication skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
