primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery

counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic

imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies),

neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery,

pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations

include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment

Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.



clerical support and coordinate services for the corresponding unit including

nursing personnel.


  1. Provides clericalsupport to the patient care unit through ensuring patient medical record isproperly assembled, Accurately transcribing orders and enters Consults into thecomputer(if applicable)

  2. Acts as areceptionist for the unit by directing, assisting, and communicating topatients, families, visitors, co-workers and other departmental personnel.

  3. Delivers specimens,picks up medication and other items

  4. Demonstrates abilityto access and use computer systems

  5. Demonstratescommitment to the continuum of care by optimizing patient flow: updates bedcensus timely, facilitates transfer/discharge of patients, Assists otherdepartmental personnel when picking up/returning patients, assisting totransport patients as needed, and facilitating new/transfer patient to unit.

  6. Demonstratescommitment to the cost-containing goals of the patient care unit and thehospital: ordering only needed supplies, removing and delivering suppliesreceived, entering patient charges timely, and ensuring discontinued equipmentis returned promptly

  7. Demonstratescommitment to maintain a neat, orderly, and safe environment: Maintains a neat,safe and orderly work area, keeps hallways clear of obstructions, reportssafety issues and broken equipment appropriately, and adheres to patient safetyprecautions.

  8. Demonstrates acommitment to personal growth and development by completing annual mandatoryin-services and code validation, attending unit-based in-services, andattending monthly departmental meetings

  9. Communicates withpatient's family, physicians, and unit personnel and peers in an accurate,courteous and professional manner

  10. May assist withtransfers/escorts and observations of patients.




School Diploma/GED Required

Minimum Experience:


than one (1) year of experience in related field

Minimum Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent customer

service & communication skills

Basic computer skills

Knowledge of medical terminology
