Job Summary / Purpose

The Foundation Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance in the Foundation Department in an organized, efficient, and professional manner.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Assists with scheduling, organizing, planning, and coordinating special events and activities to enhance the image of the Hospital and promote fundraising/philanthropy

  2. Helps identify potential contributors and supporters

  3. Keeps database of donors and past giving records; records expenses incurred and contributions received

  4. Helps to organize direct mail to reach existing and potential donors

  5. Assists Director in promoting and tracking annual giving program

  6. Receives and Receipts pledges and funds from contributors

  7. Gathers data and helps in the completion of Community Benefit Reporting

  8. Organizes volunteers and helps plan social functions to raise funds and recognize donors

Prepares information for Foundation Board meetings, records, and publishes meeting minutes.


Required Minimum Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Fundraising, Event Planning, and/or Customer Service

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Computer skills including experience with Adobe Suites; Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work outside normal operating hours for Departmental events as needed

A sound grasp of fundraising principles including donor acquisition, annual giving, major gifts, stewardships, and communications

PREFERRED Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Accounting, or a business related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with Fundraising, Event Planning, and/or Customer Service.
